Employee/Virtual Assistant Questions

When will my insurance start/how soon can I get it?

Sign up, payment, and all required documents must all be submitted by the 20th of the month in order to have insurance established for the following month.

I would like to enroll a dependent. Are there rules I have to follow to do this?

Yes, there are very specific rules that apply when adding dependents. Click here to view the hierarchy for dependents. This will help you determine which plan would be needed based on who you would like to enroll.

What if I don't have a qualifying dependent?

Our plans are designed to provide the best benefits for you and your dependents. The Comprehensive plan includes coverage for you and one dependent, recognizing the importance of family well-being. However, if you don’t currently have any qualifying dependents to include, it won’t impact the price you pay. Rest assured that our plans remain flexible, and if there comes a time when you have a qualifying dependent (such as marriage or birth of a child), simply inform us within 30 days of the life event and we’ll make the necessary arrangements to provide coverage for them.

When will I receive my ID cards?

Certificate numbers are typically issued on or before the first of the month, and cards mailed out 10 days after this. You should receive your ID cards within the first month of active service. You can still use your HMO by downloading and registering with the PhilCare app! If you have not received your ID cards within a month email us at clientservices@myva.ph.

Can I use my HMO even if I have not received my ID cards?

Absolutely! Download the HeyPhil app and use the PhilCare certificate number emailed to you to register and use your benefits right away!

NOTE: For those who have enrolled their dependents, you should be able to see their details under the ‘My Account’ section in your HeyPhil app. If you do not see this information please reach out to us at clientservices@myva.ph.

Can I purchase HMO on my own?

We want to ensure that all our VA clients have access to the best healthcare options available, and to make that happen, we require employers to sign up and pay for the service on behalf of their VAs. This ensures that all VAs have access to the care they need, while giving employers the peace of mind that their team is well taken care of.
